The short version

1.Who we are

Just Farkle (com.mani.justfarkle) is a dice game for Android, published on Google Play by A byte of Everything (Mads Kristensen). In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer.

For anything about your data or this policy, email appsbyabyteofeverything@gmail.com.

2.Data kept on your device

The app keeps these on your device:

None of it is sent to us.

Clearing the app's storage in Android settings (usually Settings → Apps → Just Farkle → Storage → Clear data; the names vary by phone) or uninstalling the app removes everything the app keeps on your device.

3.Online play and your account

Online play is optional. The first time you open Play versus players, the app signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication, which gives you a random user ID. Under that ID, Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud, EU region) stores:

The app shows you only your own matches, but the database does not keep match and challenge records private: any signed-in player of the game could read them. Choose a display name you are happy for others to see.

4.Anonymous totals

The app keeps three anonymous totals in our Firebase database: ads watched, matches started and purchases. They contain no user ID or other identifier.

Updating a total needs a sign-in. If you watch a rewarded ad or buy Remove ads while online and have never opened online play, the app first signs in anonymously, which creates a random user ID in Firebase Authentication. No profile or other data is attached to that ID. Delete account & data in Settings deletes that ID too.

5.Linking a Google account

Linking a Google account is optional: every part of the game, online play included, works without it. If you link one, Firebase Authentication stores that Google account's email address, name, account ID and the link to its profile picture, so that your player profile can be restored on another phone.

We do not use your email address to contact you or for marketing, and other players never see it. Google handles sign-in data under Google's Privacy Policy.

Tap Sign in in the app to link one.

6.Advertising

After your free games for the day, you can choose to watch a rewarded video ad to keep playing. There are no banner ads, and no ad ever interrupts a game. Once you buy Remove ads, the app no longer requests ads.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google's advertising software in the app may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address and an approximate location derived from it, general information about your device, and how you interact with the ads. Google handles this data under Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Google's advertising software starts with the app, whether or not you watch an ad, and it keeps starting after you buy Remove ads. So Google can receive some of this data, such as your IP address, your device identifiers and the fact that the app was opened, together with information about how the app and the ad software perform (for example launch time), even if you never see an ad.

If you are in a region where the law requires consent, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form (the User Messaging Platform) before it requests ads. Your answer decides whether Google may personalise the ads you see. You can review or change it at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy.

7.Purchases

Remove ads is an optional one-time purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment, and we never receive your card or other payment details. The app remembers the purchase on your device, and Google Play keeps its own record of it under your Google account.

The app also adds one to the anonymous purchases total (see Anonymous totals).

Google Play gives us a record of each Remove ads order, with details such as the order number, the product and the time, but never your card or other payment details. We keep these records to track sales and refunds.

8.Notifications

Reminders about your online matches are scheduled on your device by the app itself. No push notification service is used, and no notification data leaves your device. Android asks you once whether to allow notifications.

9.Other connections the app makes

Besides online play and ads, the app connects to:

We have added no analytics or crash-reporting software to the app.

10.Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information.

Other players see your display name, your record and the scores of your games, as described above. Google provides our advertising (AdMob), sign-in and database (Firebase) and purchases (Google Play) as a service provider. We share your data with no one else.

In the terms of Google Play's Data safety section: Google's AdMob software collects your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers, your approximate location (from your IP address), your interactions with the app and the ads (such as app launches, taps and video views) and diagnostic information, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and these count as shared with Google, which also uses them under its own policies. We collect your display name, your user ID and your online match activity, and the email address and name of a Google account if you link one, to run online play and manage your account, and we do not share them.

11.Security and retention

Everything the app sends to our Firebase project travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Your account and player profile are kept until you delete them. When you delete your account, your challenges and the matches no other player took part in are deleted with it. A match against another player is kept so that their match history stays complete, but your entry in it becomes “Deleted player” and your user ID is removed, so it no longer identifies you.

12.Your choices and deleting your data

Your rights. Under data protection law (the GDPR) you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give it to you in a machine-readable format. Where the app asks for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, as described above. Email appsbyabyteofeverything@gmail.com to use any of these rights; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or to the data protection authority where you live.

13.Children

Just Farkle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an online profile, email appsbyabyteofeverything@gmail.com and we will delete it.

14.Changes to this policy

If the way Just Farkle handles data changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.

15.Contact

Questions about this policy or about the app: email appsbyabyteofeverything@gmail.com. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use them only to answer you.

An email started from Help & feedback in the app's Settings is pre-filled with the app version, your phone model, Android version and WebView version. You can edit or remove them before sending.

The Discord row in Help & feedback opens the Just series Discord server through a link on this website. Discord is an external service run by Discord Inc. under its own privacy policy. The app sends Discord nothing.
